Welcome to the official alpha of the Hearts of Iron IV: Empire mod!

Empire is set in the early 18th century and explores both the War of the Spanish Succession and the Great Northern War, featuring great figures in history such as Louis XIV, Peter the Great & Carolus Rex. This mod features custom focus trees, ideas, a bunch of events and a lot more.

After having been released to crowd source, the mod is now re-released in its official Alpha 0.1. This means a lot of stuff remains incomplete, but the mod should definitely be enjoyable at this point. Current features include:

• 1699 start date and realistic populations
• A focus tree for the major nations: France, Spain, England, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Prussia, Russia & the Ottomans.
• Temporary focus trees for Savoy
• shared focus tree for German states
• Custom Leaders, nations & generals
• Dozens of events
• Custom ideologies & estate interactions
• Custom icons, fitting more with the 18th century feel.
• Reworked states
• Colonisation mechanics and technology.

This project is mostly a one man project, so whilst progress has been slow it has been steady. However there is a bunch of things left to be done. Currently things that are planned:

• Rework of bare focus trees
• More focus trees
• More events
• Limited rework of technology (mostly retexturing, with the purpose of not overcomplicating or breaking the game) WIP.
• Addition of land marks (such Hagia Sofia).

You are always welcome to leave constructive thoughts, suggestions, ideas etc. or report game-breaking problems. I would like to urge however not to spam the comments with “Make a focus tree for x-nation”. It is my ambition to create a focus tree for most nations, great and small, however modding takes time so I ask your patience.

This mod is still in its early development, so consider it usual for the game to contain weird bugs or inconsistencies.
