NOTE: MOD IS OUT OF DATE!

General gist of the mod: Subs are much more historical. How? Well, they can mess your day up. They can effectively blockade a nation’s trade, sink DDs, and capitol ships (provided, they are not escorted by cruisers or destroyers). That sort of thing.

The Changes:

-Subs can sink Carriers with very little effort as carriers cannot detect them now. ESCORT YOUR CARRIERS!

-Escort your merchants with destroyers, because submarines will hunt and destroy convoys with incredible effectiveness now.

-Minor nations such as denmark can support bigger nations with just submarines, as you can cut off trade.

-Subs can sink armored ships.

-Capitol ships now have a very hard time detecting and finding subs.

-Destroyers will not kill subs instantaniously when spotted.

-Destroyers can become the hunted.

Note:
Since paradox seems to paradoxically not understand how submarine warfare works, the naval system is still quite meh, even with this mod. Surface, depth, periscope depth, number of torpedos left, are all hardcoded meaning that as a modder I do not have the tools or know how to fix said problems.

UPDATE 1.2

-Reduced the general power of submarines (meaning they won’t take out carriers in one hit, they are still excellent hunters though) made them much harder to detect also.

-further reduced destroyer sub detection

-submarines can now detect other submarines and kill them

-Germany now gets a unique idea called "Wolves of the Atlantic" that makes their subs stronk

-Increased the strength of submarines, they aren’t plastic anymore

-Made submarines harder to detect when just chilling in the ocean

-Increased max torpedo range

-Fixed a comma in the defines file causing the game to crash

-updated the defines file for much greater compatibility

UPDATE 1.5

-Now fully compatible with official HOI4 patch 1.4, compatibility with Death or Dishonor is unknown as I do not own said dlc

-Revamped submarine warfare to be far mor realistic, instead of subs being able to take down capital ships they serve their purpose as merchant hunters, and are extremely hard to be detected. They now have relatively low combat abilities, but they are very good at destroying unprotected convoys… you’ll just have to play the mod to see what I mean.
