Description:

######################### THIS MOD HAS BEEN RETIRED #########################

The Russian Empire has survived the Great War and the aftermath, emerging as an economically struggling unstable rural nation. The unpopular Tsar Alexei must unite the nation and point them towards prosperity, while also preparing for the coming global feud.

Scenario: Tsar Alexander III does not get nephritis in 1894, surviving up until 1920, and avoids the war with Japan by recognizing Japanese hegemony over Manchuria and Korea in return for recognition of Russian control of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. The 1905 Russian Revolution is quickly followed up by a massive constitutional reform of the nation, based on the American constitution and giving the Duma more power in legislation. Russia follows OTL until April 1916, when Russia signed a truce with Germany, allowing Germany to occupy west of 24 degrees east, resulting in a more bloody yet similar outcome on the western front. Russia than broke the truce in December 1917, reaching the Oder by the end of the war. The end of the Great War saw the same treaty as OTL except with all things ceded to Poland and Lithuania as well as East Prussia being ceding to Russia. His death in 1920 led to the succession of Nicholas II, who saw little action during his rule through 1930, when he died at 62, passing the throne to his 26 year-old son Alexei. Alexei was initially unpopular due to his young age, and the deepening economic depression lowed public opinion further. The resulting direst in the public led to a growth in socialist and nationalist movements nationwide, and the rise of Mussolini and Hitler further added fuel to the fires of unrest. Going into the dawn of world war, Alexei Romanov must build the nation up from economic depression while also juggling the growing revolutionaries on the right and left.
