Description:

"Our knock-out prices are our advertising." – Karl Albrecht, 1953

Content

Small modification, which adds ALDI Germany, ALDI North and ALDI South as playable countries in the 1936 and 1939 scenarios. ALDI Germany replaces the German Reich as a whole in 1936; ALDI North or ALDI South can be achieved through civil war in 1936, whereas both are playable from the start in 1939.

  • Three new countries with unique focus trees
  • 1936 and 1939 szenario with adjusted history
  • New events and event pictures
  • New decisions and operations
  • New names for divisions, air wings, ships, and technologies
  • New nicknames for aces and agents
  • New loading screens with quotes and ALDI Facts
  • New icons for focuses and ideas

Developer’s notes

ALDI Germany is meant to be an enjoyable player experience. You get some territory for free and the country is getting increasingly buffed over time. Additionally, faster focuses (35 days) and normal focuses (70 days) alternate with one another. Generally, you have a lot of possibilities, in terms boosting technologies, invading countries and so on.
ALDI North and ALDI South are a little bit more challenging than ALDI Germany. There are only very few fast focuses and you get free territory only rarely. They are also more restricted than ALDI Germany. Technology boosts are not as high and limited to certain branches; expansion is focused on countries where either store is available nowadays. But you still can do a world conquest if you want to.

Compatibility

Tested with version 1.10.2, including all big DLCs. It should work without any as well. Other mods should not be a problem, as long as they do not use the same data, e.g. decisions, states, or countries.

Disclaimer

This mod was inspired by a post on subreddit /de, where the original source of user Siggiiii was apparently not quoted. The goal was to create a mod, which does not take itself too seriously and is fun to play. It does not represent the historical story of ALDI in any way (if that was not clear). Some points have been incorporated, yet it is a fully fictional work. The so-called ALDI Facts in the loading tips reflect the actual development of ALDI mostly based on the science-proven information on Wikipedia. Furthermore, ALDI did not sponsor the development of this mod; I do not even go there myself.
