VF’s Brazil – Compact Edition
Music mod here because you deserve to treat yourself from time to time!
Hello there! You might know me. I’m the guy behind the Brazil mod. Well, the first and the oldest one at that. Infamously OP (as I’ve been told) and ridiculously fun (as I do tell).
Over the years I have incessantly worked on it, adding new features, re-writing code, correcting typos and whatever else you can think of. It’s been some good almost-half-decade of brainstorming, researching, adventuring deep into the wiki, plunging myself into the deep valleys of modifiers and effects, taking care never to fall into the quicksand of adding to much stuff for the sake of it and proceeding to do so anyway. It’s been awfully fun. But then it hit me:
"What if it’s too big? What’s if it’s too much?"
To be fair that question always hit me in terms of modifiers, but never in terms of features. I realized that, much like I do, people don’t have National Focus mods just to play as the modded nation, but sometimes to have that nation just vibe in the background, and appealing to that demographic is exactly the opposite of what I’ve done by making a country mod that’s bigger than most total overhauls out there in terms of files, features and bonuses.
So, i’ve decided to gut it, and release the liberated core of it here for the grand appreciation of thee.
Well, let’s go through what I killed:
– the dozens of electable presidents
– the 93 sounds playing after a focus is completed
– the 15 industry-building decisions
– half the resources
– half the building slots given
– the new night light map
– other things here and there
Here’s what I kept:
– the Pró-Alcool stuff
– the 1 infrastructure-developing decision
– the franksteinean adaptation of the Portuguese monarchical stuff
– the FEB decision
– the rest
Might not sound like much but it’s a reduction from 300Mb to 16Mb in size. Just imagine how much more smoothly it’ll run.
Well, you actually don’t have to. I did it for you and can assure you it’s pretty smooth.
And if you want to play with everything listed (which is pretty great if you ask me) you can just refer to the prime version instead.
Anywho, this should be even more compatible with stuff than the prime version. Updated for the last version always yadda yadda yadda.
Now that I think about it, this is the best version of my mod should you want to add it in a modpack for whatever. Feel free to do so, by the way.
