There is silence, a moment of nothing but pure bliss on a peaceful hillside. Then, a sharp rumble breaks the graceful mood. An earthquake? No, not here. It grows closer. The echo of thousands of horsemen, emerging from the Steppe, can be heard from miles away.
The Steppe is a vast territory. Spanning over the Altaic Mountains, Manchuria, and Past the Urals, Ob, and Volga River. Today, Russia owns a vast amount of this land. Before the 16th Century, various tribes and nomadic groups traveled among this land, mastering the arts of cavalry.
This scenario begins at 1500C.E., with over 150 selectable and unique countries. My mod’s main thesis relies upon the early collapse of the Ming dynasty after a long Crisis of the Tumu Fortress. Furthermore, Asia Minor is disunited after a Timurid incursion into the Ottoman Empire felled the polity. Many questions remain; Which dynasty will reclaim the Mandate of Heaven? Will the Timurid Empire survive the 16th Century? Will the Mongols unify and return to their previous glory?
This early rendition, as referenced by the title of the mod, will undergo serious reworking before a full release. I recommend playing only as the countries that have focuses displayed during the country selection. Other countries without such displays are not yet satisfactory, and will likely receive an update or rework.
Please note, you do not necessarily need the "Death or Dishonour" DLC for this mod to work. I added a few generic focus tree icons which are only visible through the DLC, but otherwise I believe game functions normally.
