What mod is this?

This mod changes the balance of conventional naval battles, centered on battleships and light cruisers, to one centered on aircraft carriers. Let’s get rid of the old-fashioned world where the battle is decided by bombardment between watercraft. By significantly raising the maximum number of aircraft carriers that can participate in naval battle without penalty, you can operate a huge mobile fleet. At the same time, AI fleet management has also been improved, and they will form a large carrier task force and deploy it into the sea to stand against the player. Now you can experience the great battle of nearly 20 aircraft carriers on both sides!

Modifications

  • Increased the maximum number of aircraft carriers that can participate in naval battles without penalty from 4 to 10.
  • Carrier stacking penalty changed from 20% to 10%.
  • The AI will use a large task force consisting of up to ten aircraft carriers.
  • Carrier-based Aircraft will now be able to launch at night. The number of carrier attacks per day has been increased from two to three (two daytime attacks plus one nighttime attack).
  • Simply increasing the number of attacks would make the carrier too strong, so I reduced the carrier’s attack power by 33.3% to achieve balance.  The final amount of damage is almost the same whether you hit with two attacks per 100 power or three attacks per 66.7 power.

Compatibility

This mod is compatible with most other mods, including Kaiserreich, RT56, Expert AI, and MtG Expanded, since it only changes a few lines of defines. The author is playing with hoi4 with over 80 mods mixed together and it works without any problems.
However, it is not compatible with mods that fundamentally change the naval system, such as modern day and NRM2.

The formula for calculating sea control value will be changed from based on the number of ships to based on the cost of ships. This will increase the importance of large ships.

After the Naval Race (1.7+)
The initial fleet of each country will be greatly strengthened. The total number of aircraft carriers in the world will increase, so naval battles will become more extensive.

Historical Naval Production
Doubles naval production per dockyard from 2.5 to 5.
