Der Bruderkrieg: An Austrian Victory

Der Bruderkrieg is a HOI4 mod wondering what would happen if Austria won the Austro-Prussian War, dividing Germany, beating down Italy, and restoring the preeminence of Austria and absolutist Europe.

After the Bruderkrieg, Prussia and Italy, humiliated, both adopted ultra-nationalistic governments; Prussia abolished and exiled the Hohenzollern monarchy. Austria gained many enemies and a coalition including Russia, Prussia, and Italy joined together to tear Austria and the Ottomans down from their semi-hegemonic alliance. But as the Austrian army was being pushed back, domestic strife in Russia led to the Russians effectively withdrawing from the war, allowing Austria to secure terms, that, while weakening Austria slightly, were not punitive and retained Austrian hegemony.

After being brought to the brink, the Old Order held, if shakily, against the forces of populism. Despite a socialist revolution in Hungary, the Austrian Eagle stands above its enemies. But with tensions in Europe growing, Reichmarshall Hermann Goering’s coup in Prussia, and the Eagle constantly undermined by its subjects, will the Congress of Vienna’s order hold?
