Air Designer Tweaks
A collection of tweaks and additions meant to round out the air designer. Here’s a list of things it does:
– Medium airframes can now also be naval bombers or CAS
– Small and large airframes can now also be scouts
– Strategic material modules now reduce air defense by a percentage instead of flat values, but also reduce weight (Mosquito, anyone?)
– Fuel tanks are also now percentage based for their defense penalty
– A lot of edited weight values
– Edits to agility penalties. Cannons are less of a drag now, but having more engines will now come at an agility cost
– Turrets have been reworked. They are now slightly less powerful and slightly more expensive on average, but provide some air defense on non-fighter missions. 2x turret modules are now also exact doublings of 1x modules
– Naval attack adjustments. AT guns 1 and 2 now grant 1 naval attack with high targeting, bomb locks and small bombs now allow both naval missions (port/naval strike), medium bombs now actually have naval attack for their naval missions
– Small and large bomb bays now only apply a portion of their penalties when not running their missions. The medium bomb bay only weighs 5 and has -5 agility, so I didn’t touch it (yet)
– 6 engines are no longer magically more fuel efficient than 4 engines
– Medium planes are no longer magically more fuel efficient than small ones
– AT Cannon 1 now provides 10 air attack when on AS/interception, as well as having buffed (10) ground attack. This is meant to simulate an Airacobra-style armament, but I might just make a new module for that in the future
– Toned down the weight increases on newer airframes, mainly large ones
– Self sealing tanks and armor changes
– Anything else I forgot to add
Only localized in English, but anyone’s free to translate it and shoot me the additional loc files.
As far as compatibility goes, this isn’t going to work with much of anything that touches the aircraft files. We’ll see how it fares on game updates, but I doubt minor patches will break it.
Finally, as long as you credit me in some way, you can edit, update, or redistribute the mod as much as you like, no permission needed.
