Red Banners: The Future of Yemen
Red Banners is a Hearts of Iron 4 mod that aims to completely revamp Yemen. There are over 250 foci for Yemen, as well as a plethora of decisions, events, and characters. This ensures that the mod is not dull because there is always something interesting or flavorful to do. Furthermore, though this mod makes playing Yemen easier, it is not stupidly overpowered or too memey.
As this is a new mod, there are naturally some bugs that could still remain, so reporting them in the comments will help make the mod better and improve the experience of players.
Features and Mechanics
Islamic Path (Fascism)
Depose the Imam in a coup, and unite Arabia under the Yemeni banner. Rapidly modernize and militarize the nation. Prepare for an inevitable war against most of the world in the name of Allah.
-200+ political, industrial, and military foci.
-Events and decisions to crush dissent to your rule.
-Decisions to make Allah the leader of your country, and the creation of unique special forces units.
-Decisions on managing Arabian territories after you annex them, such as building public services, developing industry, and excavating natural resources.
-Decisions on constructing universities, which grant unique modifiers depending on what is selected.
-Decisions on dealing with the occupation of Europe, choosing between boosting compliance or crushing resistance.
Socialist Path (Communism)
Seize power after a violent civil war between republicans and royalists. Employ hardline nationalization policies, as well as a five-year plan of reconstruction. Depose the backwards monarchies of Saudi Arabia and Oman.
-Decisions to buildup for a Soviet-styled five-year plan.
-Liberate the workers of Arabia.
-Join the Comintern and aid the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front.
Republican Path (Democratic)
Instigate a revolution in the unrest following Imam Yahya’s assassination. After victory, focus on bringing western ideals of liberty, democracy, and capitalism to Yemen.
-Create a balanced economy with both socialist and capitalist policies.
-Decisions allowing you to open up Yemeni markets and trade with the West.
-Join the Allies.
Royalist Path (Neutrality)
Begin improving Yemen under Imam Yahya. Following the bloody unrest after his assassination, handle the power struggles in the House of Rassid. Avenge Yemen’s loss against the Saudis in 1934 under the newly crowned monarch.
-Partially modernize the nation under Imam Yahya.
-Ensure destruction of the traitors of Yemen, regardless of their ideology.
-Settle old grievances between the royal houses of Saud and Rassid.
Future Plans
-The expansion of the OEC (Office of European Collaboration), including internal conflicts events and power balancing.
-Adding more detail to the historical side of the tree.
-A section on creating and executing war plans that are tailored to specific countries.
-Focus trees for Yemeni puppets.
