Simple Navy Back
This mod makes the pre-designed ships available again. The tech tree has been altered so that both the old simple system and new designer-based system live peacefully side-by-side. Even the old upgrade system is back!
Updated for: 1.14.*/Bolivar/Trial of Allegiance.
Not achievement compatible.
– Compatible with Kaiserreich and Kaiserredux.
– Not compatible with mods that adds new branches ANY tech tree (not just navy).
(This counts for Road to 56 as well unfortunately).
– Because this mod breaks which techs are marked as starting techs in the edited tree, I implemeted my own dynamic system for assigning starting techs (which sounds a lot more fancy than it is, but ok). It is not perfect since it makes a couple of assumptions but it suffices.
– Battlecruisers in the production menu are not added to the correct filter. They are under battleships. I tried to fix this but have not yet found a way to make it happen.
– Existing ships (as in, on the map) are still the designer-based variants. but you can build new simple ships and upgrade the existing ships to the simple ones.
Put the super heavy battleship II in it’s own subtechnology.
Mod is now compatible with Kaiserreich and Kaiserredux.
Massively overhauled the mod to truly bring back the old tech tree.
Nation-specific localisation is only available for england and france for now, I’m still working my way through the rest.
All majors now have nation-specific localisation.
Localisation has is now done.
I now consider this mod finished and there won’t be any major changes made moving forward.
I will however still make sure the mod remains up to date and fix any bugs if any are found.
Enjoy!
– updated for 1.13.*
– I pretty much accidentally stumbled upon a way to bring back the old upgrade system. So now it’s a thing again! enjoy!
Big reconstruction of the mod!
– Instead of adding the simple ships to the MTG technologies and then changing their gfx and localisation, I transplanted the original tech to the MTG tree and put the MTG techs into subtechnologies. The advantage of doing it this way is that it required a lot less effort on my part to keep the mod updated and it makes the mod less bug-prone.
– Because this update breaks which techs are marked as startig techs I implemeted my own dynamic system for assigning starting techs (which sounds a lot more fancy than it is, but ok). It is not perfect since it makes a couple of assumptions but it suffices.
