Description:

Hello everyone. This is the first in a series of small mods that I am making called Better Techs. These mods aim to rebalance some technologies in the game that I personally feel are underwhelming.

I’m releasing these as individual mods to provide a modular aspect to the technologies to allow players to pick and choose what buffed technologies to subscribe to. I believe that these should all be compatible with one another, but if they are not, please let me know, as this is my first venture into modding HOI4, and I am still learning some things. Also feel free to suggest any other technologies that you believe need buffs in the comments!

The target technology to be buffed in this mod is Concentrated Industry. As of right now, dispersed industry seems to be better than concentrated in most cases due to the massive benefit that increases to production efficiency base and retention that is provided by dispersed industry. This makes it easier for you to change production lines as you tech up or move onto wanting to produce other equipment with dispersed. Meanwhile, concentrated lacks these buffs instead focusing on more factory output, which leads to it having a niche place of value for playstyles that require perhaps only a few types of equipment that you never have to change production lines for. Given that the game has a variety of tech and equipment options, its not always fun to rely on only a few select types of equipment.

So the aim of this mod was to maintain concentrated industry as a somewhat niche technology line, but perhaps attempt to widen that niche a little bit. I chose to expand this niche to naval production and a slightly better overall performance with the following buffs:

Factory Output: +15% per tech level -> +15% per tech level
Dockyard Output: +10% per tech level -> +15% per tech level
Production Efficiency Growth: 0% per tech level -> +5% per tech level

Hope some people find interest in this mod and mod series, and again, feel free to make suggestions for other techs that should be considered for buffs in the comments! Thank you.
