[MD] Realistic Weapons Market Prices
Submod for Millennium Dawn: Modern Day
The idea is to make the cost of equipment, mostly the heavy equipment like tanks and planes more costly to more closely resemble reality but with balance in mind. To do this, I took a rough estimate of the real unit price for the equipment and multiplied it by a factor of 100 (except guns, ST, & MARPs factor of 10), since the MD economy (albeit awesomely developed) obviously doesn’t run like a real one.
To offset the increased prices, the duration of every piece of equipment sold on the market has been standardized to 30 days
Compared to base MD, you are getting less equipment per order, generally at higher cost but orders fulfill more often.
Disclaimer: Thinking about lowering the world tension requirement for embargo from 30% to something like 5 or even 0 to give the player even more control on who they sell equipment to. Looking for feedback on whether or not that should be added. It’s a simple define change so scope is low.
NOTE: MD v1.9 ‘Top Gun’ — Nov 16th rebalanced all equipment within foreign arms market (by changing price, quantity, and duration) to be roughly equal in terms of cost efficiency and production/IC they provide over time (resulting in most land equipment being buffed as it was much worse than buying air equipment). The above spreadsheet does NOT take these new changes into account when comparing MD’s price values vs mine.
