[Old World Blues – In The Sun-Scorched Canyons]

On a small, radioactive plateau just east of the Arizonan wastes sits a small, ramshackle settlement. At its center is an ugly chunk of metal rising a few dozen feet off the ground. To the untrained eye, it might look like a a strangely large scrap house, but the steel wall surrounding the entrance to the Los Alamos Research Facility—known more colloquially as "The Reservation"—hides a sprawling network of dusty tunnels and dark secrets. In its depths lie the thousands of followers of one Dr. Willem Clark, a mad ghoul determined to ghoulify the entire human race. But he’s not the only ghoul with a will in the bowels of the Reservation, and not everyone believes his dreams of domination are a realistic possibility for the future of the Reservation.

Major Changes:

☢️ Sweeping event, focus tree, and tooltip rewrites to just about every corner of the nation to clarify comprehension of what everything’s trying to say!

☢️ A wide swath of bugfixes and technical improvements to give the Reservation a refreshed sense of functionality!

☢️ A large handful of new focuses for both paths that center around giving the three main routes a bit of filler and closure!

☢️ A ton of new narrative events to expand the story and a custom event chain for Dr. Clark’s War on Humanity!

☢️ A new focus for the Green Tree to petition Caesar to let you do to the Navajo what they honestly should’ve done to you!

Why is this submod necessary?

When Old World Blues’ 4.2 update dropped, The Reservation was one of the nations that came with it. I (Sam) played it and thought it had potential, but it missed the mark on a few significant objectives. This submod aims to fix everything that can be fixed with the Reservation. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t say this is an "overhaul" submod as much as it is just an "expansion" submod, so the most of the tree has been unchanged and the Reservation’s experience is still fundamentally the same. But it does have enough new stuff to make it—in my not-so-humble opinion—at least a nation worth playing. With all that out of the way, we hope you enjoy the narrative experience, and good luck. It might not be everything you had hoped for with this nation, but it’ll have to do. 🙂
