Rise of the New Roman Empire
This mod started out with the idea of : ‘What if the Treaty of London in 1915 didn’t screw over the Italians, but the Slavic people?’ and then it became this.
The history behind this scenario basically is:
In 1915 the treaty of London was signed. After the end of the war, Italy got all of its claims from the treaty, even a bit more than agreed on. Italy also got German east Africa and Palau, which fulfilled the part of the treaty of giving Italy a few german colonies. The newly formed Yugoslavian government was not stable after having been robbed of Dalmatia (and the ethnic tensions) and a civil war broke loose. The italians, saw this as a chance to strike. They attacked Yugoslavia and even invaded their own protectorate, Albania through the port of Vlore, given to them by the Treaty of London. The italians won the war and in the Treaty of Ljubljana it was agreed that Italy was to get Albania and the western part of Montenegro. Yugoslavia was split into two, Yugoslavia and a nationalist Serbia. Nobody interfered with this, as it was feared that this ‘small conflict’ may lead to a second world war just a few years after the first. All of this, of course delayed Mussolini’s rise to power but he saw that after the Italian-Yugoslavian war and the reprocussions, it would not be far off to rebuild the once powerful Roman Empire and with his views he convinced the populous that it was time to do so.
I know this mod is pretty unrealistic and probably would never have occured, but I find it interesting to think about what if this had happened.
This mod adds:
-An edited italian focus tree
-3 new states (Svizzeria, Western Montenegro and Vlore)
-News events and events in general
-A new flag( for fascist Italy) , colour and name for Italy
-Replaced Vittoria Mutilata with Victors of the Great War, as Italy wasn’t betrayed by the Entente in this scenario.
Plans for the future:
-Edit names of World Tension added by the focuses ( Can’t find the file to change)
-A democratic and communist focus tree for Rome
This mod should be compatible with:
-Mods that dont add/change states
-Don’t change the Italian focus tree( or flag and name )
-Don’t really change anything on the map or such ( e.g. 50% / 80% Tension guarantee, Player-led peace conferences etc. )
-That don’t add events for either Italy, Greece, Romania, Iraq, Turkey, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland or adds news events
