This mod explores an interesting scenario. What if the United Kingdom, Germany, and Russia allied with each other on the premise of family? (George V, Wilhelm II, and Nikolai II were all cousins.) This stops France from ever forming alliances with the United Kingdom or Russia, meaning the Great War is waged between these three powerful monarchies and a loose and hastily-formed coalition of France, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. This loose coalition is defeated, and the world is free to be shaped by the British, German, and Russian Empires.
However, troubled times are ahead. It’s been almost twenty years since the guns fell silent across Europe, and many across the defeated nations have had enough time to sulk and rebuild. In the other camp, the monarchs that fought the Great War are in their old age, and few know how long they’ve got left to live. With this situation, many important questions are still left unanswered by 1936;
- Will the era of their global dominance come to an end with theirs?
- Will one of the humiliated states seize the burgeoning opportunity to enact revenge?
- Could another power emerge from an unlikely location?
These are left for you to answer.
Lore and thematic babble aside, this ain’t what you’d expect from a screwup like me, but I’ve poured over three years of sweat, brain matter, and sheer insanity into this mess, and I would appreciate it greatly if you downloaded this. I work on it all the time, and while it certainly isn’t perfect, it is my “passion project”, if you will. Maybe someday I’ll even get the hang of this sort of thing. (Probably not…)
