Czechoslovakia Overhaul
The Czechoslovakia Overhaul mod aims to expand Czechoslovakia’s current content and revamp the nation’s gameplay, including a lot of new focuses, decisions, events, a custom mechanic to interact with the country’s ethnic groups and more! Not only does this mod depict Czechoslovakia’s historical situation better than vanilla, but it also puts a heavy focus on compatibility with alternative history.
Czechoslovakia
- Communist coup, after which you can either strengthen Gottwald’s grip and become a faithful ally of the USSR or let Zápotocký take power and conduct an internationalist foreign policy
- Democratic, which allows to go the historical way of keeping Beneš and following the principles laid out by Masaryk, or replace Beneš with one of 3 people: the social democrat Antonín Hampl, Masaryk’s son Jan Masaryk or Milan Hodža, who can establish the Central European Union and turn it into the Central European Federation later on. The democratic path also provides foreign policy options: you can either continue relying on the major powers of the West or strengthen the Little Entente, or even forge an alliance with Poland
- Fascist coup, which allows you to choose between Jiří Stříbrný and Radola Gajda as leaders through a struggle for power, and then to choose between creating a greater Czechoslovakia, or embracing pan-slavism and either consolidating Zapadoslavia and dismantling Russia, or uniting all the Slavs into the Slavic Union
- The collapse of Czechoslovakia, allowing you to play as Slovakia
- A separate tree for the aftermath of the Munich Agreement which aims to depict the situation Czechoslovakia was in during the "Second Republic"
- A separate tree for war with Germany and its aftermath
Slovakia
- Hlinka’s Slovak People Party path, a path where you get to balance between the conservatives (non-aligned) and radicals (fascist), and to choose Hlinka’s successor once he dies. Also allows you to choose between becoming a German ally, forming a Catholic alliance or reviving Great Moravia
- Communist path, which gives you the options to revive the Hungarian Soviet Republic under Béla Kun, stay as an independent Slovakia and support communists around you or join the Comintern
- Democratic path, which allows you to either extend a hand to your neighbors and unite with them into the Visegrád Federation, join the Allies or become a Switzerland of the East and stay neutral
