[OBSOLETE] Historical Chinese Provinces (States)
"Historical Chinese Provinces" makes a few small changes in the borders of the Chinese states in the game. It affects only the countries of China, People’s Republic of China, Manchukuo, Xibei San Ma, Guangxi Clique, Shanxi, and Yunnan.
This mod changes states in the above areas to roughly match those of the 1936 Republic of China and also moves some cities. Supply areas and strategic regions are altered to accomodate these changes, with the biggest change being to the size of the "Manchuria" strategic region, which now contains Jehol. The mod was tested to have no bugs, and does not have any effect on the populations of affected countries. However, because states are added, the potential industrial capacity of land initially under Xibei San Ma and Manchukuo control is increased.
Yunnan and Xibei San Ma are now slightly larger and smaller, respectively. A total of five new states are in the game, with four in Manchukuo and one in Xibei San Ma.
I am aware that this mod performs some of the same functions as "CHINESE PROVINCES REDEMARCATION" by 猫小奇. That mod can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=922253963&searchtext=redemarcation. I did not know this mod existed while making my own.
I considered not uploading my mod because "CHINESE PROVINCES REDEMARCATION" covers every feature of this mod already, but it contains more profound changes to gameplay than mine. These include the splitting of states in Mongolia and Xinjiang, adding many cities to China, and altering the starting orders of battle (OOBs). 猫小奇’s mod is also only localized in Chinese, while this mod is only localized to English, and it contains a few bugs related to placement of cosmetic buildings in states that are not present in this mod.
This mod may be preferred for those who want the Chinese states to be a bit more accurate while retaining a mostly vanilla experience.
EDIT: The Manchurian provinces are actually based on 1945 ROC provinces, not 1936 provinces. This may change in the future.
