The New Order: My Cats as Tomsk Generals
After the collapse of the Central Siberian Republic, Tomsk found itself in a difficult situation. The democratic government needed to unite the population of the remaining lands.
Kuzya and Dusya, two charming and intelligent cats, became not just pets, but symbols of Tomsk. They were found in a remote ruined building of the old library, damaged by an attack on Tomsk’s borders by Krasnoyarsk soldiers, where they miraculously survived by hunting mice for several weeks. After the cats were found and rescued, the story and photos of them went viral, and their resilience and survival in such difficult conditions became an example of the unwavering spirit to strive for in such hard times.
The leadership of Tomsk, understanding the importance of maintaining the morale of the population, decided to make Kuzya and Dusya "honorary generals". They were sewn miniature general’s uniforms and given a home in the offices of the command center. The soldiers considered them talismans, believing that their presence brought good luck, and during preparations for military operations, commanders often brought cats to the headquarters to lift the spirits and provide a much-needed atmosphere of calm and reassurance.
In memory of my precious cats named Kuzya (2007-2023) and Dusya (2005-2022), who were born in Tomsk and lived a long and happy life there.
