Hearts of Iron III UI
Preface:
Hi everyone, I have been working on this mod for a little over a year now and I am glad to say that it has reached a state of completion where I am comfortable to release a beta version. This won’t be perfect, and many things I will plan on reworking in other ways in the future.
Intro:
The Hearts of Iron III User Interface mod is not about a 1:1 remake of the HOI3 UI in HOI4 but one of taking inspiration from the asthetics of the former and applying it to the latter.
The map or unit icons have not been changed in this mods because other fellow mod creators have created mods for these and you may apply them on top of this and they will work perfectly.
This mod has been created to interfere as little as possible with other mods and I plan on making a few different versions such as one for Ironman Compatibility in the near future and others for specific mod compatibility.
Bugs/Missing UI:
You may encounter some icons/windows are unchanged as of yet and sometimes it is because I deemed that said icon is good enough to keep in as it doesn’t distract the eye and keeps everything uniform but I do know there are a few windows that I have not been able to get to purely because I do not think I have been able to open every little nook and cranny of the game so if you do see one please send me a screenshot in the appropriate discussion under the mod and I will get to it in the next update.
Changes:
So how drastic of a change is the mod? I have re-done ~1,350 windows, icons, backgrounds, etc. out of ~2700 (which doesn’t include stuff I’d like to keep in long term).
Future:
I will continue to add new UI and refurbish old with time. I am not a great artist so if anyone wants to contribute with their own icons or such feel free.
