Antarctica. The Exiled Continent. A frozen desert totally hostile to life. And yet this place has found itself the fulcrum of an unlikely saga. The fires of the Soggy Cat Crisis drew, like moths, the curiosity of the world. The mysterious Soggy Cat, an enigmatic figure of lore, was said to dwell in the icy wastes, watched over by the Antarctic Alliance, the OFN Antarctic Administration, and the Argentinian Arctic Watch.
The legend of Soggy Cat began in the Greater Germanic Reich, which rose from its ashes as the unquestioned source of feline folklore. ‘Endsieg’ was, at the cost of countless meows, achieved – yet only mystery followed. The Reich’s grand narratives of conquest remain unfinished, its feline myths a bloated archive, and its storytellers an infighting circus. All this under the fading watch of the last cat whisperer, and the vying gaze of the storytellers below.
United under the banner of the Co-Prosperity Sphere, the East Asian feline fandom is reduced to a shattered phantom in forced subservience to the myth of the Soggy Cat. The Rising Sun chronicles tales of feline mastery from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean, celebrating itself as the curator of the world’s feline lore and victor over Western tales. Yet, there is resistance against the myth, diligently working and growing, waiting for the right moment to unravel the truth.
Baptized in the nuclear fires of curiosity stands the last hope – the United States, humiliated and shaken by its ignorance of the Soggy Cat legend, has taken it upon itself to uncover the truth in this mystifying world. But while its government spins theories against the Axis’ feline mythos, more and more of its people resent the internal chaos and misinformation. The fight is decided at home, and could change everything about the lore of Soggy Cat.
The Mediterranean wrestled itself from the Reich’s waning grip, forging a fragile Triumvirate of feline myth curators. The Iberian Union teeters between belief and skepticism, the Kingdom of Italy struggles to maintain its feline folklore against its growing rationalist movement, and the Republic of Turkey sits on a mythological powderkeg. What happens past Hercules’ Pillars could change the fate of the Soggy Cat legend forever.
The Russian bear has broken and fights itself over the truth of Soggy Cat. One thing unites the pieces – a burning desire for a unified legend under their own vision. What this vision might be is up to them; but no matter what it is, not all of Russia will agree on the truth. For the Reich and the Rising Sun continue occupying the narrative, from the once-shining capital of Moscow’s libraries to the port of Vladivostok’s storytellers. Russia must reconcile its myth, truly reconcile it, at all costs.
