Description:

Ever forgotten that Kaiser Wilhelm II is going to die? I sure have, and I’m always disappointed when Willy III rocks up with his little "popular figurehead" trait after riding the high of cheaper advisors for so long.

All this does is sit down the Wilhelms and forces the elder to pass on the idea of traits to his son, who, thankfully, understood completely. Huzzah!

A brief explanation of the traits:

Ardent Restorationist –
Former Crown Prince Wilhelm would return to Germany post-WWI after promising to stay firmly out of politics. He lied! Wilhelm would shortly become involved in groups advocating for the restoration of the monarchy, and would for a time be supportive of the German Nazis until he realised they had no plans to restore the monarchy he so craved.

Incompetent Militarist –
Wilhelm’s service in WWI seems to have primarily consisted of pointing people towards a front, as dictated by the actual military expert assigned to him, but this does not mean that Wilhelm was uninterested. Indeed, despite reportedly believing as early as 1914 that Germany was to lose the war, he was initially largely enthusiastic, and believed that peace wasn’t benefitting Germany.

Backroom Schemer –
Wilhelm alienated many with his political meddling, sometimes to the detriment of the state and the political capital of his father. Having been partially credited for the downfall of Theobald von Bethmann Hollweg, and as a result of his close friendships with politicians such as Kurt von Schleicher, I felt sufficiently convinced that this is deserved.

Unpopular in the High Command –
Primarily a result of his meddling as mentioned above!
