Description:

Hearts of Iron IV โ€“ Performance Mod (Alpha)
Visual Optimization for Clausewitz Engine Rendering Stack

๐Ÿงช Alpha Build โ€“ Technical Preview
This mod delivers a targeted visual optimization layer for Hearts of Iron IV, developed for players running overhaul-heavy setups or experiencing late-game GPU bottlenecks.
The current version is in active alpha testing. Feedback on frame pacing, compatibility, and hardware behavior is encouraged.

๐ŸŽฏ Objective
To reduce GPU overhead caused by non-critical render elements without compromising strategic readability or gameplay integrity.
Ideal for users who want improved tick speeds and responsiveness on mid-tier or aging systems.

โœ… Optimization Scope โ€“ Whatโ€™s Being Disabled

Visual Layers Removed or Suppressed:

  • Volumetric cloud layers and ambient fog
  • Shader-based lighting transitions (day/night, bloom)
  • Particle systems (smoke puffs, light map FX)
  • Redundant overlays not impacting gameplay decisions

Techniques Used:

  • Render entity substitution (null meshes or empty containers)
  • scale = 0

    ,

    hidden = yes

    in .asset definitions

  • visible = no

    directives applied in GUI/GFX

Visual Layers Preserved:

  • UI, HUD, and map interaction elements
  • Country borders, state outlines, and resource icons
  • Gameplay-impacting weather and terrain visuals

๐Ÿ“ฃ Feedback & Community Contribution
This mod is modular and actively refined.
Community feedback directly shapes future builds.

You can help improve it by reporting:

  • Frame pacing irregularities
  • Visual anomalies or texture mismatches
  • GPU load observations (MSI Afterburner, etc.)
  • Suggestions for additional non-critical render elements to suppress

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป Technical Summary
This mod functions as a visual pipeline suppressor within the Clausewitz engine. It intercepts non-essential asset calls and replaces or nullifies high-cost render layers. Core gameplay and simulation remain untouched.

i]Same mechanics. Lower GPU draw. Smoother experience.
