Strafing Runs (EAW Compatible Version)
This is a minor submod for Equestria at War, and is essentially a port of my Strafing Runs mod for vanilla HOI4. This mod adds logistic strike to all machine gun and cannon modules, and gives a little bit of ground attack to the weapons that do not already have them. This grants all fighters the same ability to strafe trucks and trains that real life bombless fighters did in cross-channel raids during World War 2.
As with the vanilla version of this mod, stats for weapon modules inherited from vanilla HOI4 have been given a measure of balance based on vanilla HOI4’s treatment of all 2x cannons, regardless of type, as having 2 ground attack. As such, the stats are as follows.
All 2x machine guns: 0.5 ground attack.
All 4x machine guns: 1.0 ground attack.
All 1x cannons: 1.0 ground attack.
All 2x cannons: 2.0 ground attack.
Weapon modules introduced by the EAW development team have only been slightly altered to include logistics strike in its roles. Their ground attack stats remain unchanged and are not restricted to logistic strike. The rationale for this being that by the time revolver cannons and rotary cannons were developed, armor piercing rounds existed which could penetrate lightly armored vehicles and semi-reliably disable the ability for more heavily armored vehicles to see or move (considered a mission kill).
Compatibility issues may arise if you have both this mod and the vanilla Strafing Runs mod enabled. Please only use this version of the mod if you are playing EAW.
Obviously, any other submods which alter the stats of plane modules may also cause compatibility issues if enabled with this mod.
