Countless forgotten souls have burst through the Barrier, descending upon the last patch of land in the world not yet devoured by conflict. Faced with the relentless onslaught of new ideologies and advanced technologies, will Gensokyo tremble to embrace conflict and change… or cling fast to the very soul of dreams and traditions beneath the banner of conservatism?
The Moriya Shrine stands beset by dual challenges: the rising tide of atheists, and clans that dare to rebel. Foreign migrants—who defy the very common sense of Gensokyo—trample upon the spiritual realm of its native denizens. Meanwhile, the Youkai—having cast aside their faith in the Moriya Shrine—scramble amid the chaos, each harboring hidden motives as they scheme to secure their own status and power. Yet amidst perils within and foes without, new technologies, new learnings, and new ideas offer this ancient yet reborn shrine a glimmer of hope: new opportunities. Shall it throw open its gates to the advanced technologies of the outside world, forging a mechanized paradise where technology reigns supreme? Or shall it stand fast in upholding age-old traditions, reuniting Youkai Mountain through faith once more, and safeguarding the harmony and stability of all Gensokyo?
The young Living God’s mind swirls with thousands of thoughts. Every decision shall come at a price of iron and blood. But for Moriya—and for Gensokyo—all of it must be worth it…
