Revised Argentina
Revised Argentina is a mod dedicated to improving Argentina’s playability in HOI IV while maintaining balance and historical accuracy (though providing ahistorical choices to the player).
Current: revarg 0.48c
NOTICE: THE MOD IS PLAYABLE RIGHT NOW. THERE SHOULDN’T BE ANY GAME BLOCKERS, YET IT STILL NEEDS A LOT OF DEBUGGING AND BALANCING. PLEASE, SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE MOD AS WELL AS ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS ON THE MOD’S FORUM!
DLC SPECIAL NOTICE: PLEASE BEAR IN MIND I DO NOT OWN LA RESISTANCE OR BATTLE FOR THE BOSPHORUS, THERE MIGHT BE SOME PROBLEMS WITH THOSE DLCS. TESTING IS NEEDED.
TIME ELAPSED: This mod has been in development since 4/13/17.
COMPATIBILIY: The new Man the Guns DLC has messed up the map once more so I was forced to redo the map modifications myself. This is an amateurish work at best so I have no idea how compatible the mod is with other mods right now. It’ll take testing I suppose.
HELP WELCOMED: I’m not a skilled modder by any definition. If you’d like to help out, either with modding, ideas, pictures, or anything else, just send me a PM or post here on the workshop.
MOD INTEGRATION: This mod integrates the following mods:
Argentina Quick Fixes (by Netbackup)
Argentina Reskins (by Skyllio)
Expanded South American States (by Sangriacus)
Thumbs up to them for their great work. Please go subscribe to their mods.
WHAT IS DONE UNTIL NOW:
=======================
> Added Argentina in the 1936 starting date as a minor nation, this included flavor text explaining the general political situation of the country at the time.
> Replaced all political leader portraits with real pictures.
> Added two new custom traits for starting leader "Pedro Justo".
> Rebalanced initial party popularity. While "neutrality" is still majority, it’s not as one sided as in vanilla.
> Lowered Argentina’s starting national unity to reflect political turmoil at the time.
> Added new starting technologies to Argentina: Support Equipment, Engineer Brigades, Marines, Fighter I, Early Bombers and Tactical Bombers I.
> Revised the Political Advisors for Argentina. There are now 14 historical political advisors with custom traits and corresponding flavor text giving each of them some background.
> Revised Army, Navy and Air Force chiefs. Each branch now has 4 chiefs available based on historical data along with custom traits and flavor text.
> Revised the High Command Officers. There are now 21 officers available to the player with a wide variety of traits to customize your armies. These are as historical as possible though some may be a bit of a stretch.
> Added 15 new theorists with custom traits. Changed the way theorists work a little, making the bonus they provide a bit better but including a cost in consumer factories (only applicable to Argentina).
> Revised and expanded the Army Leader roster. There are now 19 generals to choose from, each with their own custom traits and flavor texts explaining who they are and why they are good at what they are. In order to reach this number of leaders I had to resort to adding people who weren’t "corp commanders" at the time, to reflect this, I’ve given them low starting skill levels.
> Revised and expanded the Navy Leader roster. There are now 10 leaders to choose from, each with their own custom traits and flavor text as well. Same as with the Army Leaders, I’ve used leaders who were not Admirals at the time, penalizing these with low skill levels.
> Redid Argentina’s National Focus Tree.
> New national spirits. (too many to mention)
> Several new political, historical and flavor events (more to come).
> Added two new trade laws exclusive to Argentina: Domestic Market Focus and Granary of the World. Domestic Focus is easy to acquire through the NFT and is a mix of Closed Economy with Limited Exports. Granary of the World is acquired through a complex event chain started at the NFT “Seek New Markets” focus. This trade law gives you benefits similar to Free Trade but with Resources to Market at Limited Exports level plus a big bonus in consumer goods.
> Added 3 new tank designers, 6 naval designers, 2 aircraft designers (7 variations), 5 materiel designers and 6 industrial concerns.
> No more instant building. All foci that give factories or other buildings take time to build and usually a construction speed penalty. Added a new series of events that allow the player to expand mining operations. These are repeatable, meaning you can keep getting more and more resources out of your country as long as you are willing to suffer the penalties.
> Customized Radio Station ‘LRA 1 Radio Nacional’
> Option to remove USA guarantees at game start.
> Mod is localized in SPANISH / ENGLISH.
