Mittelmächte (Pre-Release version)
Umberto I of Italy survived the attempt on his life. In the following years, Italy maintained a policy close to the Central Powers and, when the Great War came to Europe, the Triple Alliance was honored by it, also thanks to the territorial concessions in Trentino that Germany imposed on the Austrian Empire.
The scenario is set in 1930, when Germany, after defeating the world domination of the British Empire, imposed its own world domination, overcoming all its adversaries and becoming indisputably the first power on the planet. The Pax Germanica, however, does not seem to be very solid. A deep rivalry rages in the Mediterranean between the Italians and the Turks, both former German allies in the Great War, but now bitter enemies again. In the center of Europe, the Habsburg Empire struggles to stay afloat despite reforms, and risks becoming a powder keg.
But above all, are the Germans’ adversaries truly tamed? It doesn’t seem so. Nationalist regimes in France and Russia are calling for revenge for the wrongs suffered, with Great Britain preparing to take advantage of it in turn. The winds of war do not spare the other continents either: a people that for millennia has remained isolated in its remote land, now seems ready to cross the ocean with superhuman tenacity and determination. The expansion of the Japanese Empire scares everyone a little. Will Germany be able to guarantee its peace in a world that does not seem to have resigned itself yet… Or is the German order destined to be short-lived? That is the question you will answer in Mittelmächte!
