Timelapse (1.17)

This mod is built specifically for Hearts of Iron IV v1.17 timelapse recordings.
Most older “timelapse / no-UI” mods were made for older versions and no longer work properly on 1.17 due to UI changes over time.
This mod recreates the timelapse setup for 1.17 with a focus on a clean screen and stable long runs.

• Removes most of the standard HUD / UI
• Keeps the map view clean for timelapse recording
• Preserves only what is needed to run the game and control time

Recommended: Use this alongside “Lene’s Map” for a cleaner-looking timelapse map:

Because the standard topbar UI is removed for a clean timelapse, you won’t see manpower / casualties / industry at the top of the screen.

To open the stats window:

• Press Shift + Q to open the quick menu (Events & Decisions).
• Under Timelapse, click any of the stats buttons:
  • General Stats
  • Industry Stats
  • Naval Stats
  • Economy Stats

Choose a minor country

• Pick something small (Liberia, Haiti, etc.)
• Do NOT pick a major power (you don’t want to occupy a major and interfere with AI behaviour)

Turn off popups and spam

• Use Shift + Q to access menus quickly
• Disable / reduce:
  • Minor event popups
  • News popups
  • Any other interrupting alerts
• Goal: no interruptions and a clean timelapse

• Ironman MUST be OFF (console is disabled in Ironman)
• Open the console with ` and enter:

• Pause / unpause: SPACE
• Speed down: –
• Speed up: +
• You can also click the time controls in the top-right to pause or change speed

• Shift + Q (useful for reaching message / popup settings quickly)

• Music controls are available in the top-right corner

• Target version: HOI4 1.17
• Best used as a standalone UI mod (other UI mods may conflict)
• Designed for timelapse recording, not normal gameplay
