TFR: Shattering Russia’s National Delusion
The fire has already risen.
Now the delusion must burn with it.
The Fire Rises throws the world into an age where the old peace collapses, continents are dragged into war, and a new order is forged in flame and blood.
Yet in the original balance of TFR, one illusion remains untouched: Russia is allowed to stand far above the world around it, while Europe and Asia’s other great powers are denied the weight they should possess.
This submod was created to break that illusion.
TFR: Shattering Russia’s National Delusion rebalances the great powers of Europe and Asia around the strength that vanilla TFR grants to Russia, using the real-world balance of power in 2020 as the guiding reference.
If Russia is made strong, then the countries that rivaled, surpassed, or constrained it in reality should not be left hollow.
This submod does not simply hand out factories at random.
Instead, it takes the level of strength that vanilla TFR gives to Russia as a baseline, then raises the industrial capacity of Europe’s major powers — excluding Russia itself — and Asia’s major powers according to their real-world position relative to Russia in 2020.
Germany, France, Britain, Italy, China, Japan, and other major states are no longer treated as shadows of themselves.
If Russia is allowed to carry the weight of an empire, then the powers that stood beside it, against it, or above it must be allowed to carry their own weight as well.
Factories matter.
Population matters.
Technology matters.
Industrial depth matters.
A great power should not be great only because the script says so.
In vanilla TFR, Russia can lose a war that reshapes the fate of Europe and still walk away having surrendered little more than a scratch on the map.
That is no longer the case.
This submod reworks Russia’s defeat peace settlement. A lost great war will no longer end with symbolic concessions and a few minor border changes. If Russia collapses under the weight of war, the result will be a defeat worthy of the conflict that caused it.
The myth of inevitable Russian endurance has been removed.
Defeat now has consequences.
China, Japan, Germany, and Russia receive special doctrine content.
These doctrines are not meant to be generic bonuses. They are designed to give each power a distinct military identity and a different path through the wars of the new age.
China’s continental scale.
Japan’s strategic gamble.
Germany’s remobilized state machine.
Russia’s imperial obsession.
Each is given a sharper expression in gameplay, turning great-power war into more than a contest of numbers.
This submod also adds a large number of decisions designed to represent the power of the supreme leader over the state apparatus.
Industry can be redirected.
The army can be forced forward.
The bureaucracy can be bent into a weapon.
The state can be driven toward a single political and military objective.
These decisions are intended to simulate how personal authority, wartime command, and state power are transformed into factories, armies, control, and momentum.

Great powers will stand like great powers.
Wars will end like wars.
And Russia’s national delusion will finally shatter.
