"The Outbreak of the Hong Kong Revolution
Since the outbreak of the war in Taiwan, under the dual blows of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic blockades, Hong Kong’s already sluggish economy has further deteriorated. Meanwhile, public discontent toward the government has reached an all-time high. Following weeks of protests, the situation has gradually escalated into an open confrontation between protest groups and the government. Radical university students at the forefront of the demonstrations have already seized control of several police stations and key strategic positions across Hong Kong.
At the same time, pro-independence activist Jimmy Lai announced the establishment of the ‘Provisional Government of Hong Kong’ inside the occupied Legislative Council building, declaring that this provisional government represents the ‘true will of the people of Hong Kong’ and calling for international recognition. Although the provisional government has gained control over most parts of Hong Kong and extended its sphere of influence to Lok Ma Chau and Sheung Shui—areas previously controlled by the Special Administrative Region—it is certain that Beijing will by no means sit idly by and ignore the situation in Hong Kong."
The content above is an event that already exists within the game, but no modders have ever expanded upon it.
In every playthrough within the world of TFR, the Hong Kong insurgents still have no choice but to fight the PLA’s torrent of steel with mere flesh and blood. The outcome is almost always either failure or being entirely wiped out by the game mechanics. What players witness is more of a sense of tragedy and despair that permeates the entire narrative.
But whether in reality or virtuality, this is absolutely not what millions of Hong Kongers would have hoped for.
Precisely because of this, we hope to create this mod. It serves both as a commemoration of everyone who sacrificed themselves during that spring and summer, and as an intellectual experiment conducted through the medium of gaming:
When history reaches a fork in the road, could there be another possible future for Hong Kong?

「香港革命爆發
自台灣戰爭爆發以來，在 COVID-19 疫情與經濟封鎖的雙重打擊下，香港原本就低迷的經濟進一步惡化。與此同時，公眾對政府的不滿情緒達到了歷史新高。經過數週的抗議活動，逐漸升級為抗議團體與政府之間的公開對抗，處於示威最前線的激進大學生已經控制了香港各地的幾處警署與關鍵據點。與此同時，支持獨立的社運人士黎智英在被佔領的立法會大樓內宣佈成立「香港臨時政府」，宣稱該臨時政府代表「香港人民的真正意願」，並呼籲國際社會予以承認。儘管臨時政府已控制了香港大部分地區，並將勢力範圍擴展至落馬洲和上水——這些先前由特別行政區控制的地區——但可以肯定的是，北京絕不會對香港的局勢袖手旁觀、置之不理。」
上述內容是遊戲中已經存在的事件，但是一直以來都沒有模組製作者擴展。
在TFR世界中的每一局遊戲，香港起義者仍然只能以血肉之軀對抗解放軍的鋼鐵洪流；結局往往不是失敗，就是在遊戲機制下被抹殺。玩家所見的，更多是一種瀰漫於整個敘事之中的悲壯與絕望。
但無論這是現實還是虛擬，都應該絕對不是數以百萬香港人所希望的。
正因如此，我們希望製作這個模組。它既是對那年春夏所有犧牲者的一次紀念，也是一次藉由遊戲媒介展開的思想實驗：
