Opposite World
You know the real World War 2:
Germany, France, the UK, USSR, Japan, Italy and all the major powers struggling for dominance. The Axis fascist, Comintern communist and the Allies democratic.
In this opposite world, ideologies are switched and the major powers of the war are turned into backwater nations. Germany becomes an extremely weak democratic state, a communist Japan succumbs to the might of a democratic China, and Tibet sits quietly with one of the strongest militaries in Asia.
In the vanilla Hearts of Iron 4, conquering the world with a state such as El Salvador or Sinkiang was next to impossible, unless you were a pro. With the situation flipped, Liberia has the opportunity to deal a deadly blow to France and Paraguay can unite South America under one flag!
NOTES/ISSUES:
– Poland may be a bit too OP as in all my games has conquered up to Moscow by 1942 (albeit being held steady by the remaining Russian army). Any input on this would be appreciated.
– WW2 usually happens around mid to late 1940, as Germany can’t get enough troops on the Austrian border by then to go down the Anschluss – Sudetenland – Poland tree. However, there is usually a big war in Asia and between Russia and Poland.
– Border gore in abundance! I recommend you combine this with a peace conference mod. I haven’t tested if it is compatible but the post-war maps are pretty horrendous (Yugoslavia in Japan).
– Despite being opposing idelogies, many nations will still ally each other. This almost always happens with Germany and Japan, democratic and communist respectively, as it is a part of their focus trees.
– Almost all of the now extremely powerful nations like El Salvador, Sinkiang and Iran aren’t agressive at all, so the big wars happen between the generic major powers (which fail spectacularly). I am not that great with coding, so if there is some way to fix this, someone please let me know!
THE SCREENSHOTS ABOVE ARE FROM 6 YEARS OF THE AI. THE MAP IN 1936 STARTS EXACTLY THE SAME AS IN VANILLA.
That’s about it, enjoy!
