Important notice: I work in an area that is critically affected by the current global Covid 19 pandemic. Thus I won’t have time to update this mod for the forseeable future. Introduction

I only started really playing HoI 4 after discovering the Kaiserreich mod. It is amazing. The world building, the dedication of the team, the gameplay experience are all truly amazing. There is only one thing I hate: the 2nd American Civil War. So working based on the previous work by great people I decided to continue the work on a mod to avoid this war. This submod adds a path for the United States to avoid the civil war by using Kaiserreich 0.8.6 content as before.

In further updates I will modify existing localization files, events and national foci to make sure that they are coherent with the US avoiding the war.

Steps to prevent the American civil war

1. Form the National Unity Party

2. Elect Olson as President

3. Ensure that the Coalition does not fall apart

4. Go down Velvet Glove Path

5. Don’t allow Huey Long in the negotiations

6. Ask Reed to make a better offer

7. Present the compromise to Congress

8. Discuss Long with Hoover

9. Assassinate Long

10. Peace at last

Current Issues

1. I tried to make it as compatible as possible with the national foci and events of other nations. At the moment this means some inelegant solutions especially for Japan. Thus I recommend disabling the mod if you want to play as any other nation than the USA.

2. I might have overlooked interdependencies with other national foci and events. I created a threat for this issue where you can post these.

3. At the moment you can only avoid the ACW with Olson compromising with Reed. I would like to add a path for Garner compromising with Long but I need help in historically accurate ideas for national foci in that case. See the threat below for details.

4. Though I didn’t notice any specific bugs there probably are some. Please let me know in the discussion below.

5. There are some design choices regarding the path of the US in regards to other nations where I didn’t make a decision yet. You’ll find details in the discussion below and am eager to hear you suggestions.
