A mod to add a few new states to HoI4 to fix some oversights and allow for a few more alternate-history gameplay styles.

"Teddy’s State Mod"

Note that, to the best of my ability, I’ve made sure that the new states work with more than just the map. I’ve added proper buildings (using the nudge tool) moved building slots around as needed, moved factories and resources, and, did not just spitball this. I dug into real 1930s mining and resource data to decide where exactly to put these resources, and used populstat data to properly divide populations of the new states out of the old ones. I’ve also tried to ensure all focuses, events, decisions, and so forth, work with the new states. However, I may not have caught everything! If you do notice any stray focuses/events/decisions/etc that I’ve missed, please let me know ASAP so I can fix it.

summary of what I’ve done so far:
Added an extra state in northern Chile with a Bolivian core (more accurate bolivian claims)
split off southern sudetenland from sudetenland (more accurate alt-hist possibilities)
added "northern new england" and "west virginia" (more accurate alt-hist possibilities)
split panama into 3 states, one of which is impassible. (more accurate geography)
split the leopoldville state in half by adding elisabethville (more accurate alt-hist possibilities)
split dalmatia in half; allowing accurate 1914 hungarian boundaries
split baden from wurttemberg, and frankfurt from hessen, allowing accurate DMZ
split rhineland state in two, allowing accurate french occupation of left bank
moved 2 provinces in germany to other states to clean up boundaries (looks way cleaner)
split Siam into 3 states (was a massive state)
Split Mongolia into 4 states to match state size in area
Split italian tyrol in half (more accurate alt-hist possibilities)
moved 4 provinces in syria into damascus state to make better kurd boundaries
Split both Sumatra and Kalimantan in half (states were too large)
added new states in south hungary and south austria (more accurate alt-hist possibilities)
3 provinces moved from lower to upper austria (more accurate 1945 sov zone)
4 provinces moved into central hungary from transdanubia (more accurate alt-hist possibilities)
3 provinces moved from Moselland into new West Rhineland (better gameplay re: agents/spies)

Things I decided not to do; either forever, or, maybe just for now:
Splitting Ethiopia (might screw with Italian AI)
Splitting Nigeria (see below)
Add North-Of-Nigeria Strip; plains, moving out of impassible zone (must be some reason devs cut fr. afr. in 2)
Add Mauritania plains strip (can’t do if not doing North-Of-Nigeria)
Split Libyan desert in half (province shapes make this very difficult)
Re-design Libyan states (too much change for too little gain)
Split Belgian Congo into its IRL 6 regions (too much change for too little gain)
Split ‘south’ Angola in half (too much change for too little gain)
Split Zambia in half (too much change for too little gain, plus, geog difficult)
Split Mozambique in half (too much change for too little gain, and, unsure how to)
Split south sudan in half (too much change for too little gain)
Make an Orange Free State in SAF (too much change for too little gain, would require many changes)
Split Amazonas region in half (too much change for too little gain, and don’t see a historical rationale)
Split Cuba in half (too much change for too little gain)
Fix Canada (at one time, irc, this was ‘fixed’ and the devs ‘unfixed it’, must have had reason)
Fix Australia (at one time, irc, this was ‘fixed’ and the devs ‘unfixed it’, must have had reason)
Cut Burma Tail into separate State (too much change for too little gain)
Split New Guinea in half (maybe, at some point, but not yet)
Split ‘east’ Kalimantan in half (…maybe, but, a lot of work as states in many focuses/events)
Add annam to indochina (…maybe, or maybe too much change for too little gain)
Make Xiamen state for alt-hist trading city purposes (does anyone even want this?)
Make Al-Hasa coastal arab province (too much change for too little gain, maybe?)
Make Dobruja a state (…maybe, we’ll see)
Cut out Belgian Luxembourg (could be fun, would anyone even want this?)
Split Bosnia in half (could be helpful but likely too much change for too little gain)
Split existing Slovenia state in two (not any time soon, but, if this mod gets popular, maybe later)

Maybe later:
Danzig City from Danzig Province
Moving Hamburg to a new state, or, to hanover state
Adjust states in North and East France to allow for more accurate HRE boundaries

These would all be to help make a "Teddy’s Alternate Versailles" Mod I’m thinking about making, where WW1 ends as normal, but Versailles ends up being way friendlier towards Germany, causing it to be another country, not Germany, that starts WW2.
