Description:
Information about the map

This is an exoplanet map resource, debugged and free to use for modding purposes
This planet features vegetation using retinal to perform photosynthesis, rather than chlorophyll. Such vegetation could have existed in Earth in the past. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple_Earth_hypothesis

It feature three huge continents, and 16k land province, in total much more land than the vanilla Earth map to allow for more nations and land fighting.

Furry Sci-Fi Total Conversion mod: We need a lead dev and some volunteers!

NOTICE: This involves Furries aka anthropomorphic characters (only SFW). If you don’t like them, just move along, don’t join the server or don’t leave a comment saying "Eww furries", I’ll delete it and you’ll have wasted your time.

So, I posted half a year ago another exoplanet map resource, recruiting for a furry total conversion mod. This project is still active, it uses this map now instead of the old one. However, we need a lead developper, I can’t assume myself this role, I lack the time and the social skills to manage a whole team, and the project has been kinda a mess so far.
As a result, I need someone to lead the team, and since no one volunteered among the other members, we collectively took the decision to publish the mod on Steam workshop with the hopes of getting a new team leader. We are also open to any kind of volunteers too, though we need first and foremost a lead developper.

What is needed for the team developper

  • No writing or coding skills are directly needed, we have writers, we have coders, that’s not a problem
  • What we need is someone that will remain active, make sure that each members of the team have things to do, and that the team stays alive and do not lose steam. That’s it. Keeping the team alive and motivated is more important than the individual work this person would do.

Once again, we are also looking for other volunteers, so mostly writers or people interested in doing some worldbuilding. We are open to coders too, but we don’t have anything to code atm unfortunately. 3D modelers are also extremely appreciated, though they are very rare, I doubt we’ll get any. Any artists or anyone able to do some gfx work are also welcome on the team. The map is already nearly done, I can handle all the map work myself, I’m an expert in map making.

Scenario

This scenario can be modified as needed depending on the situation, nothing is set in stone.

Following a great industrial war, three superpowers emerged. The first one followed democratic ideals and defended individual liberties; the next one sought technological progress at all costs; and the last one built on its military power, seeking to consolidate its hegemony on its continent. These three superpowers ruled the world in a delicate balance, each struggling to expand its area of influence and gain the upper hand over the other two; and only atomic weapons prevented a second world conflict from breaking out. This precarious balance was nevertheless broken at the turn of the century: Glaurungir, the supremacist superpower, fell into a succession crisis, and the various pretenders to the throne sought to perform military feats in order to gain an advantage over their competitors, and launched a large scale invasion of the remaining independant nations of the continent. But despite their overwhelming military power, the campaign was a disaster: the contenders and internal factions of Glaurungir did not hesitate to sabotage each other, providing weapons and intelligence to the enemy so that their competitors could not triumph. The two other superpowers, wary of the invasion, provided support to the defending nations and supported uprising in the Glaurungir vassal nations, leading to the start of the collapse of the superpower. As its power was destroyed, its army defeated and its vassals rebelling, Glaurungir population rose up in most of its cities. All of this abruptly ended when the first nuclear detonation occured. It is unknown who initiated it, some believe that Glaurungir tried desesperately to shift the odds in its favor, other that the two other superpower tried to destroy its nuclear arsenal to prevent the very war that happened. This detonation was nevertheless enough to trigger an automatic response from nuclear defense systems, and soon the three superpowers were engulfed in fire and flames. Thousands of missiles flew in the sky, and the anti-missile defense systems were quickly overwhelmed by the number of warheads, being able to protect only a few strategic locations. The other nations, already exhausted by the war and lacking military projection, were low priority targets during the exhange, and came through the nuclear war relatively unscathed. As the ashes of the old world have not yet fallen, new nations are already taking advantage of the chaos to rise as the new superpowers. Former allies quickly forgot their allegiances, and sent their troops into the territories of the former superpowers in the grip of anarchy in order to get their hands on resources, production centers and technologies. Former vassal governments, deprived of the foreign support necessary for them to hold power, fell one after the other, their population demanding freedom and revenge. Finally, remnants of the old superpower tries to hold whathever they can, facing external invasion and internal dissension between competing government as order broke down. The nuclear war barely ended, yet a new war for the control of the new world is already brewing.
