Two year ago, after an iced tea fueled fever dream about a HoI4 mod that didn’t exist, I woke up and furiously messaged a friend so I wouldn’t forget it. That dream would lead our team down a journey of learning how to mod HoI4 as well as pain and suffering. Here is the message that started it all:

“Just had a dream about a HOI4 mod idea and imma send it to you before I forget it; Name “Perfect World” Nothing bad has every happened, at least nothing bad internationally. No world wars, no plagues, no great ideological struggles. It’s been a thousand years since the last war. But all is not well. The continent (the main one) has gone through the industrial revolution and the excesses of the upper and middle classes, combined with unsustainable overpopulation set the stage for a class conflict never seen before in human history. The old guard had only been able to stay in power by demonizing the 3 far away nations (idk I was dreaming of them with English French and Spanish flags, but obviously it’s a custom map maybe?) who were forced to retreat inland after the countries of the main continent showed up and started to settle to reduce the overpopulation. Basically it’s a scenario where the communists start a huge war with the old order on the main continent, the fascist natives seize the colonies of the old guard on the other continent, the democratic (but not very liberal, or even democratic for that matter) old guard needs to beat back the class struggle and restore its colonies, as well as have enough people die in the war, or take enough land for settlers on the other continent, that there isn’t a game over from overpopulation. Just the ramblings of an unconscious man.”

Obviously everything does not go as planned in a development cycle and many things are changed for balance, gameplay, etc. However the main idea of a class struggle against the old order on one continent, and revanchist states seeking to destroy that order’s colonies on the other continent remained.

Q: Is it Ironman Friendly?
A: You’re kidding me right? Absolutely not.

Q: Is it playable in Multiplayer?

Q: Recommended countries?
A: Kadaria is the main driver of the “plot”, Andea has a fun civil war, but any nation with a focus tree, or the Rutarian Confederation should be good fun.

Q: Is there content after the first big wars?
A: Not yet, that will be implemented soon, so regardless of who comes out on top on each continent, both will fight each other assuming the world hasn’t ended by then.

Q: Do I need any DLC?
A: There might be a few problems without La Resistance, Waking the Tiger, and Man the Guns, but overall you should be fine.

Q: Will there be multiple start dates
A: Yes. Currently the 1936 start date Is the one we are focusing on, but we will start working on a 1950s start date once the 1936 start date Is finished.
