Extra Tank GFX — A Submod for The Fire Rises
Ever been annoyed that you’ve only got 2–8 icons for a tank per tech level?
Yeah. Same. So much so, in fact, that I learned how to mod just to fix this nonsense.
This tiny-little-bitty submod adds a metric truckload of tank icons to The Fire Rises. That’s it. That’s the mod. Icons. Specifically, 1,329 of them, split by tech level and type (Light Tanks, MBTs, Amphibious, etc.).
They’re AI-generated, but not just slapped in—I handpicked them, culled the trash, made sure there’s a solid spread of camouflage patterns, terrain types, lighting conditions, and general vibes.
They blend well with the TFR aesthetic. Or at least, I think so—and I’m the one who suffered through it, so trust me on this.
This mod is heavily inspired by Axis Minor Tank Icons Expanded by The Telephone Crab (shoutout to the crustacean), whose mods are great, but made for vanilla. I cracked his mod open, reverse-engineered the whole thing like a digital vulture, and repackaged it for the glorious chaos of TFR.

⚠️ Compatibility & AI:
Icons are not nation-specific.
AI SHOULD use them when designing tanks. – to be verified.
This mod shouldn’t break anything, thanks to how it’s structured (again, based on Telephone Crab’s work).
But if it somehow does implode, leave a comment or send me hate mail. I’ll take a look.
