Better Naval CAS
Historically in WW2 dive bombers were far more useful in naval combat than in the game, disabling carriers and other ships in famous battles.
This mod improves Bomb Locks, AP Locks, Heavy Bomb Locks for naval combat:
– port strike mission allowed for all types of bomb locks
– increased naval targetting from 4 to 6 for all 3 types of locks (historically dive bombers had better hit rates than torpedo bombers)
– increased naval attack for AP locks from 6 to 8
– slightly increased naval attack for heavy bomb locks from 3 to 4
The idea is to make dive bomber (bomb locks + dive breaks) designs compete more with torpedo bombers and encourage mixed CAS/Torpedo forces like historically. Now it should be a better tradeoff of agility + attack vs defense + targetting between the two.
Because of how mission types work, existing designs in saves won’t have port strikes available, only new designs. For new saves it will work for stock designs.
The file inside only touches these 3 modules instead of copying the whole plane modules file. This way it should be compatible with most other mods, even if they change plane modules. (unless they change these 3)
