Make the AI less Dumb!
This mod improves how the AI builds and uses its military in Hearts of Iron IV.
It focuses on making the AI’s army, tanks, navy, air force, and intelligence systems work together in a more sensible way.
The goal isn’t to make the AI cheat or buff its stats, but to make it use the tools it already has more effectively.
What this mod changes:
Infantry:
Infantry templates are redesigned to be more suitable for combat.
Better combat widths and support companies.
Less template switching and fewer cancelled divisions.
Infantry is better at holding ground and fighting prolonged battles.
Tanks:
Tank designs are more focused and role-based.
No mixing of wierd devisions.
Medium tanks are prioritized and actually produced by countries.
Experimental is being researched and used.
Navy:
AI tends to design ships in a more reasonable way than vanilla.
Fleets are more coherent and better suited to their roles.
Coastal defense behavior is improved.
Air Force:
Aircraft designs are more cost-efficient.
Fighters, CAS, and naval bombers are designed to support infantry and naval operations.
The AI upgrades planes without constantly breaking production efficiency.
Air power is used more in support of land and naval combat.
Intelligence:
AI builds and upgrades intelligence agencies.
Spies focus on countries the AI is actually fighting or preparing to fight.
Intelligence is used to improve defense, invasion awareness, and planning.
Counter-intelligence is actively used to protect against enemy spies.
Other notes:
Works in both historical and non-historical games.
Does not railroad focus trees or force wars.
Multiplayer-safe and performance-friendly.
Does not add events or change focus trees.
Compatible with most major mods but build with The road to 56
The AI won’t suddenly play perfectly, but it will make far fewer obviously bad decisions.
