OWB – New Vegas Rework
This submod makes a, largely, completely new focus tree for New Vegas in Old World Blues; as well as modifying a few other areas that interact with vegas.
The focus tree that OWB has been using for New Vegas has been using is old, its really old, and the few effects that it has that interact with the world really don’t acknowledge the state of the world or the various map changes that have happened over the years.
I tried not to have too many anarchronisms or veer off too far off the actual lore, but there were several points where that did end up happening. The early focus tree focuses trees on making Vegas into the paper tiger Mr. House needed it to be to fend off the other major power long enough to finance recovering the platinum chip. The mid bit focuses on actually recovering the platinum chip and making minor adjustments in the Mojave. The late tree focuses on finally getting the chip and putting House’s plan into motion, or do something less fleshed out.

*Removed all of VEG cores on states outside of New Vegas
*Removed MOT core from Bitter Springs
*Changed VEG starting territory to include bitter springs, hoover dam, boulder city, and vault 3(you get a remilitarizing the rhineland event pretty early to deal with other vanilla OWB events)
*Changed VEG starting techs gave them demolition/fire team tech took away mutually exclusive general atomics trash
*Changed VEG starting division template to be less bad
*Edited the VLT, PSH, NEW focus tree files to add a joint focus branch
*Edited the MOT focus tree file to change their interactions with VEG(lets you choose between trying to ally them, or discreit them instead of zomgcivilwarlulz)
*Edited the vegas and MOT ideas files
*Edited on_actions/country_startup_events to remove it adding ideas to VEG
*Edited on_actions/mojave_on_actions to remove lulimposedcivilwarevent againt VEG, and instead added an event that’ll give MOT a bit of manpower/units if they wasted pp to bribe the families
*Moved all the casino related advisors to be economic advisors, and all the others to be cultural advisors
Notes:
-If you want to go Benny, for some reason, you need to recruit the Chairmen, don’t placate them, and send the chip through the subtle mojave route.
-If you want to go The King, you need to go benny, join the NCR, and then make sure The King wins the election
-The starting year skips over the most interesting part of New Vegas’s history. Mr. House didn’t emerge to enforce his will on to Vegas until about a year before the game starts, and by the time OWB does start he already controls everything. All the tribes were selected, all the conquest time was done, and all the backstabbing deals were made already.
