MIO Investment Decisions
MIO Investments adds a new decision category that allows countries to spend Political Power to fund their Military Industrial Organizations over time.
Instead of waiting only for production, research, or focus rewards to slowly level up your MIOs, this mod gives you a controlled way to invest Political Power directly into selected groups of military industry.
A new decision category is added:
Invest in Military Industrial Organizations
From this category, you can activate temporary 30-day investment programs for different MIO groups. While active, the selected group receives daily MIO funds.
Each equipment category has three investment levels:
- Small Investment – Costs 25 Political Power
- Provides 10 MIO funds per day for 30 days
- Total: 300 MIO funds
- Medium Investment – Costs 100 Political Power
- Provides 25 MIO funds per day for 30 days
- Total: 750 MIO funds
- Large Investment – Costs 250 Political Power
- Provides 50 MIO funds per day for 30 days
- Total: 1500 MIO funds
After the 30-day duration ends, the decision can be taken again.
Small investments are the most cost-efficient option over long periods of time.
- Small Investment: 300 funds for 25 PP = 12 funds per PP
- Medium Investment: 750 funds for 100 PP = 7.5 funds per PP
- Large Investment: 1500 funds for 250 PP = 6 funds per PP
So, if you are planning long-term industrial development, repeated small investments are better value. Medium and large investments are mainly useful when you want faster growth and are willing to spend more Political Power for speed.
The mod divides MIO investments into four broad categories:
Covers infantry and battlefield support industries, including:
- Infantry equipment
- Support equipment
- Artillery
- Anti-tank
- Anti-air

- Each investment lasts 30 days.
- Only one investment level can be active at a time per equipment category.
- For example, you cannot run Small, Medium, and Large Aircraft Investment at the same time.
- Once the timer ends, the investment can be activated again.
- The mod funds existing MIOs. It does not create new MIOs by itself.
The AI is allowed to use these decisions, but only when it has more than 300 Political Power available.
This prevents the AI from wasting Political Power too aggressively while still allowing it to benefit from the system when it has a surplus.
This mod should be compatible with most mods that use the standard Hearts of Iron IV MIO system.
It was designed to support broad equipment categories rather than specific named MIOs, so it should work with both vanilla-style MIOs and many modded MIOs that use standard equipment type definitions.
This mod is intended for players who want a more active way to develop Military Industrial Organizations without instantly maxing them out.
It gives Political Power another meaningful use and makes long-term industrial planning more flexible.
This is a gameplay-changing mod and will change the checksum.
