Pacific War Series – Historical Hong Kong

I decided to stop doing this mod series. Thanks to all of my subscribers and followers.

Hello everyone, I’m a Hongkonger. I have made a mod about the history of Hong Kong during WW2.You can experience and learn the history of Battle of Hong Kong. Moreover, there are many alternative histories in this mod.

You can play as British Hong Kong, Dominion of Hong Kong, Fascist Hong Kong, Democratic Hong Kong and Communist Hong Kong.

– Various events

Many historical events about the British Hong Kong. Alternative history routes also contain many events.

Although this mod is called Historical Hong Kong, it contains many alternative histories. I think it is very interesting. These alternative histories are based on some historical facts relative to Canton(Guangzhou) and Hong Kong.

Fascist Hong Kong

The leader is Chan Lim Pak, a Cantonese merchant . He cooperated with the Japanese during the Japanese occupied Hong Kong period.

The party is Lingnan Reconstruction Party(LRC). It refers to the Blue Shirts Society.

The flag refers to the flag of British Union of Fascists(BUF).

It is refer to the history of the Canton Merchants’ Corps Uprising in 1924. Chan Lim Pak, the leader of the Canton Merchants’Volunteer Corps . He had waged an revolt against the Kuomintang. He had come to Hong Kong after the failure of the revolt.
Chan Lim Pak approaches to the Japanese in the late 1930s. He had suggested Mark Young, the governor of Hong Kong that the British should leave and transfer Hong Kong to the Japanese. He said this would ensure peace in Hong Kong.

During the Japanese occupied Hong Kong period, he cooperated with the Japanese and became the member of Chinese Committee( Part of the Japanese colonial government ).

In 1944, he died in an American air strike when he went to Macau.

The story and focus tree of fascist Hong Kong is referred to the above history. You can revive the merchants’ corps uprising to capture Guangdong and Guangxi during the Sino-Japanese War.

Communist Hong Kong

The leader is Tseng Sheng and Peng Shuzhi.

The party is Seamen’s Union. It is the largest trade union in Hong Kong before WW2. It belongs to the Chinese Communist Party.

Tseng Sheng is the leader of Dongjiang Column. He commands the guerrilla war against the Japanese in Hong Kong.
Peng Shuzhi is a Chinese Trotskyist. The communist Hong Kong is referred to the history of Chinese Trotskyism in the 1930s. You can choose to follow Yan’an or agree Chen Duxiu. Chen Duxiu is the founder of Chinese Communist Party. He became a Trotskyist after 1929. If you agree his point of view, Hong Kong will become an independent communist country.

Peng had founded a Trotskyist Party. He move the party to Hong Kong after 1949 because the PRC banned Trotskyism and arrested some Trotskyists.

You can wage a Canton revolution to capture the Southwest China during the Sino-Japanese War.

Democratic Hong Kong/Dominion of Hong Kong

The leader is Brook Antony Bernacchi and Ma Man Fai.

Brook had found the Reform Club in the late 1940s which is the first democratic party of Hong Kong. Most of the council members were nominated by the governor until the 1980s. Brook’s party advocates that Hong Kong should introduce universal suffrage.

Ma Man Fai is a member of RC. Before WW2, he was concerned about democracy in Hong Kong. He advocates Hong Kong should become an autonomous city-state. After the war, he joined the RC. He is also the founder of Hong Kong Democratic Self-Government Party.

If you play as British Hong Kong, you have a chance to become a dominion. Mark Young, the governor of Hong Kong during WW2, had suggested a constitutional reform plan in 1946. He wants to introduce representative democracy to Hong Kong.

I have worked on this mod for a period of time, and have shared a development diary on a Hong Kong popular forum.

The part of communist has not finished yet. I will continue to work on this mod.

I made this mod because I want to let more people to know this history. Many Hong Kong people had already forgotten the Battle of Hong Kong.
