Historical Changes
Historical Changes is a mod that aims to make the game play and feel a little bit more historical. This isn’t a huge mod, and the game will play out mostly the same as normal just with some small changes and a few minor changes. This mod is intended to be played with historical mode enabled.
JAPAN
Japan has a few more factories and dockyards at the start so AI and player Japan can have more of a chance since Japan rarely, if ever, performs as well as in real life.
CANADA
Canada has some more steel and aluminium. It is not a total overhaul of Canada’s resources, just a bit of a boost to better represent Canada as an important source of resources for the Allies during the war.
PORTUGAL
Portugal will now always agree to lease the Azores to Britain. Britain no longer has a decision to call Portugal into the Allies, since Portugal would often accept even when historical was turned on.
FRANCE
AI France will now always refuse to hand over their navy to the British. AI Britain will always choose to attack the French fleet at Mers-El-Kebir when they refuse to hand over the fleet.
SIAM
Japan’s focus to ally Siam will now annex them, since real Siam did almost no fighting at all during the war and the Japanese built stuff in the country. With the way Hearts of Iron IV works, annexation to Japan represents this best in terms of gameplay.
IRELAND
The UK no longer has a decision that offers Northern Ireland to Ireland in exchange for them joining the war.
MANPOWER
Doctrines and the 3 highest manpower laws now provide less manpower since major countries in vanilla never come close to running out.
RESISTANCE AND COMPLIANCE
Resistance and compliance have been slightly adjusted so it can’t be ignored as much.
KASHMIR
The border between India and Sinkiang is impassable since it does nothing other than be an attrition sink for the AI.
OTHER
There are a few very minor changes here and there, including a few events having the non-historical options removed.
