FOREWARNING
—————————–
You may not use anything from my mod, in whole or in part, without my explicit permission.
I will relax this at a later date.
I have NOT touched Country-specific colors at all.
Day/Night cycle not supported.
COMPATIBILITY:
Make sure to port any conflicting 00_terrain.txt changes to !_terrain.txt
e.g. forest penalties etc, if you use a mod that changes them.
If you don’t care about terrain map-mode you can just delete the !_terrain.txt file.

Modifies checksum right now due to terrain tilemap shenanagins (common/terrain/XX)
Contating paradox to fix this limitation (it’s just visual changes shouldn’t be part of checksum)
Previous workaround doesnt work anymore due to recent updates to HOI4.
Ignore – "Terrain <mountains_desert_tips> attempts to use index (31), which is already used."
This is terrain-to-texture override working as intended, just a warning.
—————————–
Large GFX rework for HOI4
—————————–
Terrain is much easier to distinguish, forest/jg/mud etc. improved.
Reworked global illumination for even global lighting and crispier terrain.
china not as dark etc, no eye-searing water shimmer etc.
Significantly improved each of the below map modes:
– Main map mode
– Strategic Navy
– Strategic Air
– Supply
– Terrain
Tested with all settings ON except Shadows/3DTrees/Cities.
Naval icons loosly based on this mod:

—————————–
Stuff I can’t fix
—————————–
> GradientalBorders on islands are extremely thick, no way to handle them differently or configure this.
> Water ‘bloom’ is due to land>ocean tiles lending (has nothing to do with GB’s)
Just looks poorly blended when blending to darker oceans.
> Zooming out causes obvious tiling on coastal borders – islands look quite square. HOI4 issue.
> Hardcoded 1+ second delay before Gradiental borders update after a map mode switch
> Selecting units automatically changes map-modes, also hardcoded logic.
> Navalbase icon when a fleet is present, automatically blurred for no reason.
Doesn’t matter if same as an already crisp navalbase icon. HOI4 shenangins.
