Description:

This mod makes the pre-designed tanks available again. The tech tree has been altered so that both the old simple system and new designer-based system live peacefully side-by-side. The old upgrade system is also back.

Updated for: 1.14.*/Bolivar/Trial of Allegiance.
Not achievement compatible.

Mod Compatibility

– Verified Compatible with Kaiserreich and Kaiserredux.
– Not compatible with any mods that add new branches to ANY tech tee (not just the tank one).
(This counts for Road to 56 as well unfortunately).

Notes:

– Because this update breaks which techs are marked as starting techs in the edited tree, I implemented my own dynamic system for assigning starting techs (which sounds a lot more fancy than it is, but ok). It is not perfect since it makes a couple of assumptions but it suffices.

Update 2.0:

I learned how to code sub-technologies into techs and therefore have moved all anti-tank, aa and arty into their own subtechnology in order to more closely reflect the old tree.

Update 2.1:

Now Kaisserredux and kaissereich compatible.

Update 2.2:

The art on the tech icons now shows up properly. They still don’t show on the subtechnologies or in the production menu though, so consider that a WIP.

I also replaced the tank chassis icons with the german tank icons instead of the black ones. Let me know what you all think about it.

Update 3.0:

– All icons now show up properly.
– Localisation has also had an overhaul. All subtechnologies have proper (nation-specific) localisation in english while the original technologies have their generic localisation.
– Default tank icons are now the black ones again.

Update 3.1:

– The tree now resembles the original one even more now. The only difference now is that the medium tank I is still unlocked by the gw tank instead of light tank II.
– Fixed some bugs regarding the icons (and added Greek and Turkish tanks icon in since I forgot those, oops).
– Localisation now shows up properly on the main technologies as well.
– Default icons are now the german ones again.

I now consider this mod finished and there won’t be any major changes made moving forward.
I will however still make sure the mod remains up to date and fix any bugs if any are found.

Enjoy!

Extra Update 3.2:

– Found some icons hidden in the dlc files that didn’t show up in the main gfx file while others did thanks to a tip about missing icons. As a result all tank icons that exist in game are now at their proper place in the mod. This update adds many main battle tanks, super heavy tanks, amphibious tanks, tank destroyers, self-propelled artillery and self-propelled aa icons.

Any TD, art or aa icons that still have the icon from the normal tank tech they are attached to are still that way because a proper icon never existed (nor an actual real-world historical tank).

Update 3.3:

– Updated for 1.13/aat.
– Tank icons for the nordics will arrive at a later date, this update is for compatibility only.

Update 3.4:

– added nordic tank icons

Update 4.0

Big reconstruction of the mod!
– Instead of adding the simple tanks to the NSB technologies and then changing their gfx and localisation, I transplanted the original techs to the NSB tree and put the NSB techs into subtechnologies. The advantage of doing it this way is that it requires a lot less effort on my part to keep the mod updated and it makes the mod less bug-prone.
– Because this update breaks which techs are marked as startig techs I implemeted my own dynamic system for assigning starting techs (which sounds a lot more fancy than it is, but ok). It is not perfect since it makes a couple of assumptions but it suffices.
