All Bonuses Super America Focus Tree
UPDATE: Updated for Gotterdammerung.
Do you find the current US focus tree boring and limited? Do you hate missing out on bonuses because of mutual exclusivity? Do you not care about balance and just want to steamroll your enemies, or perhaps, face a buffed US? Well this mod has you covered.
This mod is the sequel to the Super-Japan mod I made and gave the US a similar treatment. Due to how the US focus tree works in the base game (bad, duplicate focuses for each path, etc.), and the fact the US has a lot more descisions and mechanics than Japan, I had to take more liberties than with Japan’s overhaul unfortunately. Anyway…
Features
-All trees merged in to one. You can obtain the benefits of all of them.
-Great Depression system overhaul.
-Almost all focuses are 35 days now.
-No mutually esclusive focuses.
-Garbage focuses removed or repurposed in to something good.
-Some flavor edits so the focuses make sense. The theme is if the military took over the US and ran it Starship Troopers style.
-Focuses that grant the benefits of each ideology, this time including the officer corps ones.
-Added to grant statehood to any part of the North American continent (i.e. make Ontario a state) coring them in the process.
-AI as of this time only works for historical, on ahistorical it will just pick random focuses. I thought people would prefer the mod sooner rather than later. This will be updated in the future.
-MacArthur is leader of the US due to having the strongest bonuses. FDR will become a "popular figurehead" advisor you can hire.
Notes:
-Due to the US having more involved mechanics, it has it’s fingers in more files, as such, this mod effects some shared files. Particularly the "-economic" idea file, "00_traits" country leader file, and the "the_gathering_storm" bookmark file (and of course US exclusive files). The changes to these are minor, just keep it in mind for mod combatability.
-Speaking of mod compatability, this should work fine with my Super Japan mod. I did one test game which worked fine, but that’s not a lot of testing admittedly.
-Since the base game has so many Great Depression related focuses for each tree, I have reworked the Great Depression to have 11 levels instead of only a few. The first 5 are negative, 1 neutral, and the last 5 are positive. There is a wait time between Great Depression focuses however so you can’t reach "Economic Miracle" status (level 11) by 1937.
-The congress mechanic remains in the game. I know some might not be too fond of it, but some really crazy (unreasonable) rushes were possible without it. I did however, change it so focuses also give support so you can kind of swap between ones that give and take support instead of relying on lobbying. There is no new mechanics or such, but I have it set up that civilian-oriented focuses will give party support, stability, and help the Great Depression, but congress goes in to opposition, while military-oriented focuses usually give a spirit and get congress support.
-The mod is not meant to be balanced or historically plausable/accurate. It’s just to have fun.
-On historical mode the US will mind it’s own business until attacked or until around 1945 when it will start expanding. The US makes it’s own faction and will not join the Allies, though should aid them due to sharing a common enemy. In a future update I plan on the ahistorical paths giving is strategies that make it more agressive and also go after different targets.
-Please inform me of any errors/weird things you come across. I keep notes and have already been working on fixing some of the issues with Japan tree people have brought up. I will do the same with this.
