Ukrainian State: the Great Reborn
Ukrainian State: the Great Reborn is an alternative-history mod in which Ukraine, under the leadership of Pavlo Skoropadskyi, managed to preserve its independence and exert influence over other Ukrainian-speaking regions across the world.

The mod features an enormous number of historical development paths, supported by national focus trees containing around 1550 focuses. It adds approximately 1400 new events, hundreds of national spirits, ideas, advisors, and design bureaus, around 750 decisions, and 60 achievements. New states and various smaller map details have been added, including the ability to form the borders of a United/Greater Ukraine using precise state borders. Soviet-era city and state names have been replaced. Ukrainian-language voice lines for troops have been added, along with custom unit models for Ukrainian armies. Many Ukrainian ethnic lands beyond the starting territory—such as Western Ukraine, Transcarpathia, Green Ukraine, and Kuban—have been thoroughly developed, each featuring their own large and small focus trees. The mod also integrates content for other countries, adding new focuses or branches for the USSR, the Third Reich, France, Poland, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Japan, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
From the time of the Russian Civil War up to 1936, Ukraine has undergone little transformation. The economy stagnated for years, especially after the 1929 crisis, which dealt a severe blow to national development. Military funding was reduced, leading to an outdated army. The country is in desperate need of reforms, but the question remains: will these reforms be carried out by Skoropadskyi himself, or by his opposition? The future now depends entirely on the player’s choices, with an immense amount of unique content created for this purpose.
An independent Crimea has also been added. After their defeat in the Civil War, White émigrés led by Pyotr Wrangel took refuge on the peninsula. By 1936, Crimea has descended into chaos: the economy has collapsed, and the authority of the “Black Baron” is under serious threat. Any spark may be enough to overthrow Wrangel in favor of other influential political figures.
There is also the prospect of an uprising in Kuban, where Cossack revolts erupt following Stalin’s rise to power. If Ukraine supports them, this can very likely trigger a national liberation war. The player has the opportunity to play as Kuban by starting a game as Ukraine, supporting the uprising, and, upon its success, switching control through a special event. Kuban features a large and highly engaging focus tree with many possible paths—from democracy and union with the Don to fascism or neutrality aligned with Ukraine.
