Description:

A work in progress to add Mechs ("Walkers") to HoI4.

Despite its clunky tabletop rules, I’ve liked Gear Kreig for years as it uniquely places mechs in the greater context of war machines, and gives them a niche that doesn’t strain credulity. Walkers function as a small half-track that can stand up to a +15′ walking machine- letting them opt between high speeds across country in "wheels-down" mode, and unthinkable agility for a vehicle when "walking". Walkers trade in armor and armorment (and fuel-inefficency) for maneuverability and utility, and (should) outpace light tanks early on in value. Walkers over-perform in rough terrain, hit soft divisions hard, and can exploit holes in the line.

I’ve completed my initial development for this, and will now be looking for someone to help with better art assets.

**Completed Work**
-Tech tree updated v1 (added walkers to Armor folder)
-Unit and Equipment updated
-localizaion files updated (English)
-gfx basic counters added
-Germany given basic walker texh (history/states) and Germany and Generic OOBs updated
-Walker design companies added (generic only)

**Upcoming Work**
-Update 2d sprites and add 3d models
-Review and adjust ai_strategy and ai_template files to ensure nations build some units
-Permission dependent, merge in some more common equipment mods to reduce probelms with mod compatability (likely items: towed artillery/at/aa, armored cars, amphibious vehicles)
-Review focus trees and general traits to slightly differentiate Walkers from Tanks
-Expand Walkers in to a seperate technology tab, add additional walker types, add sub-variants
