Version 0.3.3:

Yes hello welcome mod

This mod makes the Vanilla AI much better on non-historical mode, and also adds a few new things for a slight vanilla plus feel.

This mod has three goals:

1: stamp out all of the annoying and questionable AI behavior on non-historical AI.

2: Add ALL the different custom country paths on ALL nations, and code AI for these paths.

3: Make existing focuses and events more dynamic, and more feature packed where the devs might have gotten lazy or not had time to fully flesh out ideas.

All of this combined should make Non-historical AI more playable, enjoyable, and most importantly, stable.

Please give me all your dumb ideas and tell me all the things that annoy you in any non historical games that you have played. And I can look into them, even if it’s weird and an obscure scenario, (e.g. I would love it if nation X AI would join faction Y if faction Y exists) I can make your ideas happen!

My goal will be to consistently update this mod, but please be aware that updates may sometimes be a few weeks in-between. I do also have a full time job (I know many of you don’t know what this is but please be patient)

Highlighted Features:

– Choosing a path for the AI actually works instead of it taking 6 years to change ideology (looking at you, France)

– Added more dynamic AI which actually plays kinda smarter for many different paths (e.g The AI can actually manage as Napoleon now, Fascist USA can actually win the civil war, etc.)

– Random non-hist AI will change tactics if their assumed future allies are changing ideology in most cases,(for example; Germany stops trying to do Berlin-Moscow axis if Trotsky takes over Soviets, and Communist countries will still join a Communist alliance if the Soviets aren’t around!) If you spot behaviour that you think should dynamically change but doesn’t let me know

– Added various small events and a few new focuses to make some paths more dynamic.

Feature highlights for update 0.3:

– 6 new game modes, to add a bit of difference to some of your games!

– Full compatibility with ToA and the latest update

– Lots and lots of small patches here and there

– New AI so invitations to the Allies are not just sent out randomly, but *hopefully* it will make sense if someone joins the Allies, and Co-Prosperity is harder to join for countries that are NOT in Asia!

– Historical Netherlands can now be influenced by trade to be either pro-german or pro-british, On historical AI the British tend to get more trade influence, but a determined player (or nonhistorical AI) can definitely make the Netherlands cave to Germany instead!

– Added 26 new AI options for Poland, 17 each for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and 6 for the Netherlands.

– Added new AI behavior for different non historical world scenarios!

FAQs

DLC needed?
DLC are not required to run the mod, but the paths that use unowned DLC’s focuses will not be available to you

Achievements?
Unfortunately not compatible with Achievements cos I edit a lot of stuff…

Can you make this work on RT56 or Expert AI 5.0???
No. I cannot. I would essentially need to re-create the whole mod from scratch, since RT56 uses completely different focus trees on nearly every country, and Expert AI 5.0 messes with nearly every game file that has something to do with the AI. Maybe at some point in the far future if I’m up to it, probably never.

Compatible with this or that mod?
should be compatible with most mods, except it is NOT compatible with:
– Mods which alter focus trees.
– Mods that edit AI behaviour a bunch

Inspiration for this mod can be credited to Joshuia.Dufree’s Custom Paths and Game Rules Improved, which is no longer updated. I have not used any code from his mod, though I may do so in the future.

Code from manlethamlet’s ‘Formables in setup options’ has been used for some features of this mod
