Mercenaries & International Market
This mod aims to introduce a mechanism of Mercenaries that allows players to convert manpower into tradable units on the International Market, enabling the rational exchange of surplus manpower for additional economic capacity and vice versa.
– Balance Change: Reduce the cost of the "Develop Related Businesses" and "Ask Subject For Volunteers" decisions, while increasing the bonuses to Recruitment and Reorganization Speeds provided by the "Wartime Emergency Measures" and "Issue Recruitment Contracts" decisions.
– Bug Fixed: Fixed an issue where the "Ask Subject For Volunteers" decision could still allow recruitment and reorganization actions to be performed, leading to abnormal behaviors.
– Bug Fixed: Fixed an issue where the "Ask Subject For Volunteers" decision only consider subjects of Puppet type as targets.
Unlock related decisions by taking the Establish Mercenary HQ decision in the Mercenary HQ category, costing 25 command power.
The category includes a custom UI:
- Recruitment: Through recruitment, you can convert manpower into mercenaries. Mercenaries will be stored in the form of equipment in stockpile and can be sold or bought on the International Market. Once recruitment is initiated, the Mercenary HQ will conduct recruitment operations at a particular rate; you can stop the ongoing recruitment at any time by clicking the stop button; an event notification will pop up when the action ends.
- Reorganization: Through reorganization, you can convert mercenaries back into manpower. Similar to recruitment, once initiated, the Mercenary HQ will conduct reorganization operations at a particular rate, with an event notification at the end. Of course, you can stop it at any time as you want.
- Mercenary HQ Settings: View related settings. Currently only includes the toggle for event notifications.
- HQ Level: The HQ Level represents the current scale and capability of the Mercenary HQ, with a maximum level of 10. Higher levels will provide additional bonuses to Recruitment and Reorganization Speeds. Could be upgraded through a decision.
AI will attempt to convert a random amount of manpower (1K-50K) into mercenaries and list them for sale on the International Market when manpower is high (> 700-750K), and buy mercenaries and reorganize them when manpower is low (< 100K); during wartime, AI is more inclined to buy mercenaries and conserve manpower.
The decision category also offers a series of decisions to obtain subsidies for hiring mercenaries, bonuses to Recruitment and Reorganization Speeds, and the ability to draw manpower from subject countries to convert into mercenaries.
Since this mod does not modify any vanilla content, it should be compatible with most other mods.
