Expanded Generic Focus Tree
This is a mod for players who wish to either play countries with generic focus trees, or for those who wish generic countries would get more involved in the actual war.
Expands all aspects of the generic focus tree, whilst balancing it with more 35 day focuses so it feels like less of a slog. The expansions should give players more options and the experience should be a lot more varied. Includes features from DLCs, so the experience for players without those DLC’s may be limited.
With historical focuses off, the AI will randomly choose an ideology and go down the relevant path. Certain ideologies will also result in the AI invading their neighbours. If you do not wish for this, please turn on historical focuses.
This mod makes my previous improved generic focus tree largely redundant, so if you enjoyed that one then I’d ask you to try this.
In response to some FAQ, I will not be adding an anarchist path nor the option to apply the focus tree to any/all nations. The anarchist path is too finicky to fit within the parameters of the generic focus tree without heavily sacrificing the overall quality of the mod – I’m not willing to do that. Similarly, in order to replace non-generic nation’s focus trees an immense effort would be needed to amend their decisions, events, etc., so as to prevent it bugging out/creating errors. I am a hobbyist mod-maker and am really not up for spending that time painstakingly amending every nation to fit the expanded generic focus tree, and it may prove to be a Sisyphean task as Paradox continue to create new focus trees. I encourage any other mod-makers to try to make these amendments, however I would be doing this mod a disservice to tack on some flaky, buggy addons.
Also, this mod should be compatible with any small mod. It is not compatible with large overhauls mods which affect the generic focus tree.
